Dukes is a family-owned and run business which has been serving exceptional coffee and food to the people of Cork since 2005. Coffee has become extremely hip, but everyone at Dukes is very proud of the fact that no matter who their customers may be – trend-setters, jet-setters, mammies with kids, nanas, grandads or anything in between – they feel right at home the second they walk in our door.

Year round, this great market - in the very foodie town of Skibbereen - serves up the best in local (and internationally-flavoured) produce.

Another local hero in the East Cork region famous for its rich farmland and food culture. The Granary's brunch menu is particularly tempting for vegetarians. Midleton is a half-hour drive from the city and also home to the famous Jameson Whiskey Distillery.

A newcomer on the Cork scene (every Wednesday 9am to 2pm), this Farmers Market takes place in the grounds of Ballyseedy Garden Centre, Carrigtwohill, East Cork (about 25 minute drive from the City) and offers a great mid-week option for the best of local and regional produce. It’s very close to the historic great country house and gardens at Fota House – one of Cork’s best-loved attractions - and combining the two would be a great day out.

If you are looking for a small farmer’s market in gorgeous countryside and very much rooted in the local community, Killavullen in the Blackwater River Valley offers something a little different. Hosted twice-a-month in the grounds of the Historic Nano Nagle Birthplace, it’s a very local market that prides itself on being welcoming, relaxed and very kid-friendly. You’ll have time to chat with the stall-holders and producers, sample their best and stroll the grounds.
