West Cork House reaches Final of European Holiday Home Association

The house was nominated as best Nature Experience Holiday Home in the EU.  The other Irish Finalists were Achill Holiday Cottages (Budget Accommodation), Thatcher’s Rest, Bettystown, Co Meath (Beach).

There were 8 nominations under each category across the EU countries.Carlos Villaro Lassen of the European Holiday Homes Association presented Maire Ni Mhurchu, owner of Tig na Failte ,with the nomination. Maire was delighted with the nomination and said it was ‘recognition for  the great experiences visitors can have in West Cork in a house which makes the visitor feel part of the landscape’

Set in its own extensive grounds the house overlooks Dunmanus Bay and the setting sun to the west. Tig na Failte has a 4 * rating from Failte Ireland for Self Catering Accommodation and is a member of the ISCF. The house sleeps 6 people and offers views of Dunmanus Bay  from each bedroom. The family friendly house has a dedicated playroom and swings in the garden for children. The house allows easy access to the picturesque towns of Bantry, Schull and Ballydhob. The house is on the Mizen Peninsula with easy access to the walking routes along the Sheeps Head. All these were considerations for the judges of the competition. The house is available for rent all year round and has a cosy stove and central heating system for the colder days.

Tig na Failte offers a wide range of guided local activity in collaboration with ActivityDays.ie The activities offered use local expert guides who show the best of West Cork.
