IFADA Chef Course

During the course attendees were able to be creative and develop skills in making a variety of fish and meat dishes while getting creative in applying various types of delicious spices and marinades. Attendees were able to further develop their skills and experience in cooking and culinary arts.
The one day course was set up as a showcase to promote the upcoming 10 week course set to commence in September which takes place one day per week. Attendees were able to gain insight in what the course offers. The course is ideally designed for aspiring chefs while facilitating employers to upskill their existing staff and address the skills shortage which many employers are encountering. The course provides attendees with the following skills & techniques: 

 

  • Boning & Filleting 
  • Pan Frying
  • Flame Grilling 
  • Fish Cookery
  • Smoking
  • Pickling

 

  • Using agar agar
  • Plating Techniques & styles 
  • Fresh Pasta making & Cooking 
  • Steak Cooking & Garnishing
  • Beef & Lamb serving styles 
  • Salting & Curing
